Specialists from business advisory firm Quantuma were appointed as Administrators of law firm Lennons Solicitors Limited, trading as Lennons. Lennons provided both commercial and private client legal services and operated from three offices located in Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire.
Quantuma’s Sean Bucknall and Andrew Hosking were appointed as Joint Administrators on 28 February 2025 to oversee the process. Lennons employed 37 staff, all of whom were made redundant.
Founded in 1983, Lennons’ head office was based in Chesham, Buckinghamshire with additional offices located in Amersham and Tring. The law firm reported turnover of £3.4m in 2023. However, due to a series of challenging circumstances more recently, Lennons was unable to secure a renewal for its professional indemnity insurance cover, and as such was unable to continue to trade as a regulated law firm.
Samantha Palmer, partner at Child & Child, has advised the joint administrators in respect of all regulatory matters and has subsequently been appointed as client protective Solicitor Manager. Samantha will oversee all regulatory matters and ensure client interests continue to be protected, including the safe transfer of client files and client monies to the acquiring firms whilst the compliant, orderly wind down of the business is completed.
Sean Bucknall, Managing Director at Quantuma, commented: “It is deeply regrettable that Lennons has been forced to cease trading, due to a series of difficult circumstances. This was a sad ending for an established law firm. Following a period of marketing, we have managed to safely transfer all of the firm’s live files in accordance with clients’ instructions to multiple parties including Read Cooper Limited t/a BWK Solicitors and Nexa Law Limited, ensuring that all client interests remain protected and that there is a managed and organised winddown of the Firm.
