Robert Connelly

Robert is a Legal Executive, a Fellow of the Association of Law Costs Draftsmen and qualified Costs Lawyer of 38 years experience having worked for several major city practices, including Barlow, Lyde & Gilbert and Kennedys, before joining the firm in 2009.

He leads the personal injury team for the firm, specialising principally in claims for occupational disease, but has a wide range of experience in the pursuit/defence of insurance, financial services and other litigation.

His role as a Costs Lawyer enables him to provide support to the firm’s dispute resolution team in the preparation of costs estimates, detailed assessment bills of costs, points of dispute and to both prosecute and defend all costs proceedings.

Robert has rights of audience to appear in all costs proceedings and is therefore able to accept retainers from those involved in costs disputes with others.

He is also an expert in the use and application of “no win no fee” retainers with legal expenses insurance and a regular contributor of articles on costs issues to The Costs Lawyer journal.
